Being a woman of color teaching within an art form that commercially still allows racism, sexism and depictions of stereotypes is a challenge. Diversity, equity and inclusion is the philosophy I have lived by in my twenty year professional career as an actor, producer and director...
Professor Di Quon Wilms has taught and guest lectured at a wide range of schools, universities, and conferences. Her book on practical hyphenate on-set education will be published by Routledge and released in Fall 2026. She is currently on the tenure track and serves as Program Head of the BFA Acting for Film and Media program at Pace University in New York City. "This innovative program places acting for the camera at the forefront, jumpstarting students’ careers from day one. Our actors craft moments for media in which silence can speak louder than applause. They hone their unique voices and refine their individual artistic processes, gaining the tools to reflect humanity with honesty—often for an audience just inches away. By learning the technical aspects of the media they work in, students emerge as modern multi-hyphenates, prepared for careers in an ever-evolving industry."
As an acting coach, Di Quon has worked with actors at all stages of their careers, from newcomers to award winners. She specializes in transitioning theatre actors to film and television and has coached many young performers to recurring roles, film leads, and success across countless auditions.
